Website Access

How to Get Access

Some sites require authentication prior to permitting access. This is because we’d like to share content but not with the open Internet. Access to the site is granted by a pre-determined list of email addresses. If you don’t have access, contact Mike or Ashley.

  1. Upon first contact to the site you’ll be greeted with this screen:
  1. Enter your email address in the box and click “Send me a code”.
  2. You’ll then be presented with a form to enter a one-time code:
  1. If authorized, you will receive an email from Cloudflare ([email protected]) with this content:
  1. You can either click the link or put the code into the form and you’ll be taken to the website.
  2. If you are not authorized, you will be not be sent a code.
  3. After the code has been accepted, your session will be valid for a month (the longest I can set it to).

Background

I am using Cloudflare’s free tier of Zero Trust. This enables me to block sites from being accessible to anyone on the internet (i.e. the public) but allowing friends and family to access it. There are no accounts required. Within Cloudflare Zero Trust, I have an approved list of email addresses and only those email addresses will get a passcode.
